Dear Mr. Hamby,
I am a currently a junior at Clemson Universiry majoring in Civil Engineering and I am contacting you because you are an established Civil Engineer in the structural field, and I am aware that you are a graduate of Clemson. I am finishing my second summer internship with M.B. Kahn Construction Company and will begin looking for employment following this year, so I am seeking advice and information about how to best prepare myself for what has become a very competitive job market. Please understand, I am not asking you for a position. Instead, I am requesting a short meeting of no more than 15 minutes of your time, during which I can ask you about steps I can take to make myself a more attractive prospect to potential employers.
I will contact you in the next week in hopes of making an appointment. Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to meeting you soon.
Sincerely,
Hayden Willis
