Response to Collaborative Definition of Technical Writing: Shayaa Smiley and Rodney Ragin

This post had two very important points. First, they talk about making "scientific, technical, and practical knowledge available to a variety of audiences." This is the center of any definition involving technical writing. Second, the data presented in technical writings should easy for the intended audience to understand. The writer should be careful not to use special jargon that the audience would not, or even may not, understand.
