Repost of Collaborative Post: Bobby Cole and Kinsey Knight

For our collaborative project, we are helping the South Jersey Eye Associates create a nonprofit website that gives patients and the community a place to go for any information concerning eye care and health. We chose this project because it is something that the community can benefit from, a business can be proud, and most importantly; a way to gain good experience in technical writing.
We hope to accomplish several things in doing this project. For one, we want to learn how to create a good website. This is a given, concerning what the assignment is. We also want to create an open forum where people can come and post questions to a number of doctors. Here, common problems can be dealt and solutions can be offered. The Optical manager, who is in charge of the project, has showed a great desire to give back to the community. He wants everyone to know that South Jersey Eye Associates is a business that gives back to the community. Basic information concerning the business will of course be available, but links to a number of charities and non-profit organizations will be there as well.
This entire project is a very positive experience for a number of reasons. Of course, it involves interaction with a partner, but it also requires a good interaction with the client. This is crucial to any future job we may be trying to get later in life, after college.
