Rationale for Collaborative Project: Pamela, Hayden, Kristy

We have decided to create a website for Dr. Oscar Lovelace Jr., a doctor running against Mark Sanford in the Republican Primary for Governor of South Carolina. Hayden will remain our main form of contact with Dr. Lovelace, since the Doctor is Hayden’s uncle. Due to the onset of his new campaign, Dr. Lovelace would most benefit from a website we could provide. Our website would be motivated by all those Clemson students in favor of electing Lovelace as South Carolina’s Governor. Clemson is very important to Dr. Lovelace because he is both a graduate (81') and one time student body president (80-81'). After talking with Dr. Lovelace, we realize his main goal for the site would be to increase name recognition and develop campaign workers and donations. We intend to provide a place directly on the site where students can access information regarding Dr. Lovelace and his issues. In addition, we will offer information detailing the ways to get involved in the campaign and even register to vote. The site will serve as a place to collect donations as well as a medium to communicate up-to-date information regarding the campaign. Students not in favor of Dr. Lovelace may also benefit from the site. We will detail the profession of governor, and the experience needed to acquire a job in this field. All those seeking a profession in politics may want to browse the site to gain background information that may help when they prepare for their careers. The site might even serve to attract new students to the field. While Dr. Lovelace will be featured the most, this general information will allow impartial browsers to gain from accessing the site.
