ENGL 314 Proposal - Cathie J.

PROPOSAL FOR ADDITION TO AMERICAN RIVERS WEBSITE
MEMORANDUM

TO: American Rivers.org
FROM: Catherine Jackson
DATE: June 3, 2008
SUBJECT: Status of the Catawba-Wateree River

I propose to add to the website of “American Rivers.org”, addressing the need to inform American citizens, especially those of North and South Carolina, of the status of the Catawba-Wateree River as #1 on the list of “America’s Most Endangered Rivers”.

American Rivers describes itself as “a non-profit organization founded in 1973, the only national organization standing up for healthy rivers so our communities can thrive”.

I propose outreach to inform the public of the imminent threats and potential consequences of inaction, especially regarding:
- Uncontrolled development
- Water mismanagement
I will also suggest ways that any individual can help to save this priceless resource.

Hi Cathie,

No partner yet . . . that's not good, although the project seems excellent! Your biggest challenge is going to be finding an appeal that will persuade your readers--even getting them to read will depend on catching their attention. Let me know if you have any questions.
