Response to the 4 articles on Technical Writing

The 4 articles provided great information on technical writing and technical communication. Each article however had a different way of explaining them. In each article, I was able to find something that was related to teaching. For example, in "what is communication?," the article talks about 3 different types of communication. As a future teacher, I will need to know how to convey all 3 types to my students. Technical communication for giving instruction and procedures to students. News and media to keep my students updated on the real world. Interpersonal so I can connect with my students. In the Department of Labor article, it talks about all the qualifications of a technical writer. This specifically doesn't apply to me as a future teacher; however, it informed me on how to become a better writer. The article, "Technical Communication," told me about what technical communicators do. One thing that they do is produce newsletters and brochures. This is true of teachers as well. Teachers must be able to put together a newsletter or brochure for students to take home to their parents. In the powerpoint of Defining Technical Writing, talks about the technical communication serving practical needs. Again, as a future teacher, needing to learn how to write information that addresses my student's needs is important. After reading all 4 articles, I feel as if I have a better understand of technical writing and communication.
