Repost – Response to ER Doctor Interview

I thought your interview with Dr. Terrigno was very interesting. I can definitely see how an ER doctor would find verbal communication vital to his profession. It surprised me that doctors have trouble communicating with symptomatic patients that think they know their own diagnosis. However, I can definitely see how that would be discouraging, especially to someone in such a rapid-paced occupation. I was also surprised that Dr. Terrigno did not mention anything about written communication such as medical charts, prescriptions, etc. I thought that this type of communication would be vital to making sure each patient receives the proper treatment after they have left the ER. This was a very interesting and informative interview. Great job!
