History of Our House by Emmanuel and Matt

Our House was founded in 1988 by local citizens of Decatur, Georgia who recognized that there was a lack of affordable childcare that kept many families from overcoming homelessness.

The founders of Our House wanted to make it a place where parents could leave their children for free while they go seek employment or permanent housing knowing that their children would be in a safe and loving place. Over the years though Our House has evolved into a place that give valuable supportive services for entire families.

Our House was the first homeless-specific childcare center to receive accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
