Response to Hilary/Lindsay, Emmanuel/Matt, Brandon/Amanda...posts on Technical Writing

After I read the responses about technical writing that three pairs of my classmates wrote I noticed several similarities between their responses. First off everyone said something about technical writing and communication which I think was a very important point to mention. Technical writing helps people to communicate with their audience, whoever their audience may be. The importance of clear communication in technical writing is something that me and my partner found as well when we were defining technical writing together.

Another similarity that I found between my classmates postings was notion that technical writing is job specific. This means that the technical writing you do will depend on the job that you have. This does not mean however that some of the techniques will not be the same from job to job because they will be.I think it was Amanda/Brandon who mentioned this point which is very important.
