My name is Jack Johnston. I am currently a junior at Clemson University enrolled in the School of Agriculture, Forestry, and Life Sciences studying Biological Sciences. I am preparing to enter into the job market in your field of expertise. I am very interested in orthopedics surgery. Since you are an expert in this field I was wondering if you can give me advice on what would make me a more desirable applicant for hire.
If it is possible I would like to meet with you briefly to ask a few questions and discuss my resume. I greatly appreciate your time and efforts, and look forward to hopefully meeting with you sometime next week. I will contact one of your assistance in hopes of setting a time at which we can meet. Dear Dr. Kavolus
Thank you very much for allowing me to meet with you. The advice you gave me was extremely beneficial. It has provided me with a more direct path to construct my future plans. I will definitely take into consideration the advice about becoming more involved in medical organizations at Clemson University. Also, the recommendation of helping with a mission trip in a foreign country is another thing I will definitely look into. Thank you again for you help.
Sincerely,
Jack Johnston

Hi Jack,
Most of this is very good, but in your letter, you indicate that you're getting ready to enter the field . . . in reality, aren't you preparing to enter med school? If so, you should let your guy know that that is where you are, so he knows how to better help you.
