Answered the phone, sat new customers, designed the Special announcements, to-go orders, cashier, and occasional paperwork. Developed familiarity with the restaurant business, learned how to work with many different types of people, developed better ability to work with money and complicated transactions.

HIGH FALLS RESTAURANT (Seneca, South Carolina)

Host and Expo, October 2003 until December 2003

Answered the phone, sat customers, and took drink orders as a host. Promoted to expo, acquired skills in assembling plates, learning how to read tickets with shorthand, and delivering customers food in the correct order. Developed desire to work in a job that always requires work to be done, and requires the ability to work quickly and efficiently. Developed my first skills similar to those required by a server.

FATS CAFÉ (Seneca, South Carolina)

Host and To-Go, January 2004 until August 2005

Answered phone and sat people as a Host. After transferring to To-Gos, took and put together all to-go orders, worked as a cashier for the customers and the employees. Improved my ability to work efficiently and quickly, and improved my ability to work with money. Balanced the cash register every night.

MUTTS BBQ (Seneca, South Carolina)

Cashier, Cook, Dish washer, and Server, August 2004 until February 2006

Acquired skills in every area required in a restaurant. Improved skills with money and making transactions, learned new skills of cooking a variety of foods, and by working in several different areas of a restaurant, learned the difficulty and respect needed in every area. Given the first job title as a server and learned several skills in communicating with the customers.

COPPER RIVER GRILL (Seneca, South Carolina)

Host and Server, May 2006 until April 2008

Answered the phone, made floor-plans, assigned side-work, and took to-go orders. Promoted to server and developed the ability to work efficiently as a server. Learned how to manage my time and responsibilities efficiently, developed the ability to communicate effectively with the cooks on the line, the managers, the other workers, and the customers. Gained skills in customer sales, and developed skills in working with money. Promoted to Floor Captain of most shifts worked and developed the ability to monitor other servers work and keep everyone working together positively and responsibly. Acquired skills in communicating with other workers effectively.

THE BODY SHOP (Seneca, South Carolina)

Secretary, May 2007 until August 2007

Answered the phone, open and closed down the store, made appointments, washed sheets, washed dishes, cleaned the store. Learned how to work with managing people’s schedules and make appointments. Improved certain skills such as working with people, money, and managing time.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ACTIVITIES

Ability to communicate effectively and positively with co-workers and customers. Several acquired tasks over working in all the different areas involved in restaurants. Ability to work well with money and make calculations quickly and correctly. Acquired preference to remain busy and productive throughout shift, and work up to higher positions.
