Advice for future ENGL 314 students
Hello English 314 Technical Writing Students! In preparation for this course, you will need to keep in mind that this is a fast passed learning environment. With that in mind, responsibility, reading and reacting is what you will need to incorporate with Technical Writing.
First, it is your responsibility for the amount of work that will be covered and to complete all assignments in an orderly and timely manner. This class is just like if you were writing in the workplace.
Next, it's time for reading. Reading the syllabus, assignments, posts, and class online meeting and your handbook are crucical for survival in this course. Make sure that keep clear and concise notes for yourself and if nessecary, make yourself a calendar for projects and posts. This is very important as the class draws to an end, because it will get hectic, but it's not too bad.
Lastly, react! Respond to the web blogs, and ask questions. Sometimes the best learning tool is by asking questions, for clarity and so forth. Please take this class seriously, as you can benefit greatly from the activities and through this technological class setup. You can expect to have collaborative assignments and projects as well as your own work to consider. Time will go by quickly so the sooner you set yourself up for success, the better the classes evolution will be. Good luck to you all!
