In relation to technical writing, the term technical can be defined as doing something formally rather than practically, and the term writing can be defined as composing letters, words, or symbols into a professional draft format. Technical writing has a different meaning in the communication field because it generally refers to the professional documents that are used to apply for positions, communicate formally, compose memos, compose resumes, and compose letters of resignation. Personally, when I think about the meaning of technical, I think of Tri County Technical College. When I think about the definition of writing, the type of literary writing required for my 20 page papers last semester comes to mind.
