Resume
My resume is geared toward acquiring an entry level career in layout design. I choose to begin with a profile of myself and my objectives to supply potential employers with a general understanding of my position and skills right away. To offset this broad overview, I honed in on my education and work experience in the next two sections. This information is extremely specific and relevant to the career I am pursuing. The heart of my resume and the factors that differentiate me from the rest of the applicants lies in these sections. Next, I included activities I am involved in and awards I have received. Including this section allows employers to realize that I am not solely a good student academically, but a well-rounded individual. I list the skills I have gained as a result of my studies in the following section. I decided to place this section after my education, work experience, and activities to act as a complement for all three. Employers can first view the things I have undergone to finally achieve the skills I have currently. I round out the resume with a list of references. I understand the value of strong networking, and I am confident in my abilities to list contacts for further evaluation. I want employers to understand my work ethic, my morals, and my contributions through the words of my teachers and past employers. Rather then having only a sheet of paper to draw conclusions, they have a real-life connection; a third party that may help sway their decision to hire.
I do not currently have access to my u:drive, so I have placed my resume directly on the blog. The formatting will not be correct, but it will be corrected once I gain access to the drive.
