Dear Mr. Hastings:
Mr. Hastings, I am a senior Computer Science major at Clemson University. I am contacting you because you are very established within the Computer Science profession. I am currently in my second term as a co-op with Itron Incorporated and I will be starting to look for full-time employment opportunities next spring. I am seeking advice and information that will aid me in my search for full-time employment. I would like to let you know that I am not asking for a position, but I am just asking for a short meeting with you in which I can ask you about steps I need to take to be as attractive as possible to potential future employers. This meeting would take up no more than 15 minutes of your time.
I will contact your office next week in hopes of setting up an appointment with you. I would like to thank you for your time and consideration, and I hope to meet you in the near future.
Sincerely,
Rodney R. Ragin

Dear Rodney,
Good draft. I'd suggest that you be a little more clear with this part, maybe something like, "I am currently in my second term as a co-op with Itron Incorporated and am starting to prepare for my professional career." Even though you explain that you're not asking for a job now *later* you don't want to scare them off here. Other than that, you're good to go!
